The birth of our daughter Layla inspired a whole-life change toward minimalism, homeschooling and running away from home (to paradise!). We blog about family, homeschooling and unschooling, gratitude and mindful living. We also run Start Homeschooling Australia and provide support, encouragement and inspiration for new homeschooling and unschooling families. We would love to hear from you!

First birthday! (day 366)
Dear Layla,
It is beyond comprehension that (even with us documenting and savoring every moment!) this year has gone by so quickly, and today you are one year old! I don't even have the words to describe how blessed we are to have had you complete our family of 6, and how much you have changed your brother and sisters as they have grown up this year, loving and adoring you, and sharing the common awe of helping to raise a little sister.
I couldn't choose just one photo today, just as I couldn't bring myself to end our '365 day project' yet either. So here we are at 366...
With much love xx Mama

First birthday
Today was your first birthday and in true Layla style, you slept through your party, then partied hard all through the afternoon - dancing pool side to music that was playing very loudly (they must have known it was your birthday) elsewhere, and making Mummy run back and forth as you pretended to go to jump in the pool, then ran back away from it! As usual your ever-loving cheer squad was there to catch you when you finally decided to dive in!
We love you more than is imaginable xxx Happy Birthday Layla-Rae
